Slabghost had an idea a while back expanding on the help I've given joedrum with his computer and posting pics to the forum etc.

The idea is to offer one on one help over the phone to include bike related stuff.
See sometimes certain problems need a real time discussion.
I've done this quite a few times for the members here and I know we have many knowledgeable guys would be willing to do the same.

So what you say?
Is this something you'd like to see?

I figure I'd work up a list of volunteers with phone numbers in a "special" forum only granting members access after they've been screened. Don't want any jerks or spammers getting our numbers.

Let me know what you think of the idea and post in this thread your interest to volunteer.
Using a special forum, your name could be removed or added at any time. No obligation of course, completely voluntary.

Don't post your phone number or any other personal information. We'll leave that for PM to me only.

Be sure to cast your Yes or No vote in the poll above.

I`m still wondering if the logistic`s of this can be used for troubleshooting on bikes, Computers are one thing but mechanic work is a different kinda thing mostly requiring both hands, a little muscle some grease , Maybe some motor noise and not all people get it in the way we get it. I can see it working on certain things.
Not saying it wont work I just don't really know.

might need to be a separate area where we each can answer according to what we know best. Sort of like the general forum personalized. :laptop:

there is sooo many things I know nothing about , but , as for Mechanic work , I know a little , things like electrical , the workings of an Engine , Valves , Cams , Carbs , .... I'd be glad to help with anything I can , just let me know what to do . :fishin:

I prefer to speak on the phone as I have done on numerous occasions with Steve over the last 6months. If I can help out in any way let me know via a PM and I will ring you back via VoIP. I would be happy to phone a Pom in trouble David.

If I could be a help to someone I most certainly would be willing to give it a try. I have trained several truck technicians over the years. Now I was thinking, with internet video it could be close to hands on. Dan I think it is a great idea.
