OEM hoses for the GL1000 and GL1100 have been long gone. OEM GL1200 hoses can still be found but they are getting scarce too.

So, about time to come into the 21st Century!

These kits have top quality UK made polyester reinforced 'CUT TO SIZE' SILICONE HOSES and come with real quality Spanish made STAINLESS STEEL CLAMPS - NO RUST or scabby looking zinc plate.

These will be a 'Fit & Forget' part. Probably never to going to need any maintenance and the kits will keep their good looks for ever! Or even longer!

Waiting for new clips. I have decided that the ones I have are not quite right. The kits should be available as of next Friday.

OK, so, like the conscientious owner you are, you drain the cooling system every other year just like you should.
And before you refill with the anti-freeze mix, you check the condition of the hoses.

I mean, you take them off, remove the cruddy protector springs so that you can examine the outside for cracking; then you carefully check the inside for the deterioration that can and does happen over time.

NO, NO, NO, DON'T LIE TO ME. I KNOW THAT YOU DO NOT!

You just blithely assume because they are not ACTUALLY leaking right now, that all is well with what are, in all probability, the original OEM 30odd year hoses.

So how many other 30odd year odd items that have had 90C hot liquid coursing through them under pressure do you own?

Ever had a washing machine hose go? Bet that wasn't 30 years old!

Ever had a bottom hose let go, and dump slippery anti-freeze mix right under your back tyre? YeeeHaaa, ride'em cowboy! Right into the nearest ditch!

Yes, the answer to all your hose problems is right here. The clamps have arrived and the kits are ready to go.

By the way, I have also sourced some amazing BLACK stainless steel clamps. This may be more to your taste, but they will be to special order. Pictures when they arrive.

I'm not an apple or bike polisher and don't really want to add bling. Do you have a similar kit in a matte black?

If you mean the shine on the hoses, no, that's the way they come. But I'll see if they can be dulled down in some way, as I doubt you'll be the only one asking.
The newly sourced black stainless clamps are matt. Real nice! The whole clamp is stainless; band, bridge and screw. Special black coating originally done for an Italian motorcycle company!

That's what I thought when I saw them. Found them quite by accident.
But be warned, they are costing me over 4 times what the other stainless clamps are costing.

In other words, they will add $9 to the price of the kit, without another penny profit. I have looked for a cheaper alternative and there isn't another one of the same quality.
Google it and see what price other folk are selling them for!

Actually, not true. I did find one, but do you want to pay $23.60 (plus shipping) for just 4 clamps? Thought not!

OK, black clamps are now here, just one set for evaluation. See what you think.

This set of 1200 hoses has been dulled down. All I did was go over them with a fine grain Scotch pad and it did the job nicely.
But trust me, the rest are getting sold shiny; you can do the dulling down bit if you feel they need it!

I got enough black clips to do one set of each, for evaluation. First come, first served!

I will be ordering more black clips but they take about four days to get here.

Pretty pricey. How are these hoses better?

Yeah, I agree the price is an issue. I'm working on that. My big problem here is having to pay 20% VAT on everything I purchase, as I'm not VAT registered at the moment. To do that, I really need to become what you guys call an LLC. That means loads of paperwork and accountant expenses. Our turnover is small, so still thinking about it.
However, I have looked again at my costing including the shipping and managed to trim the price down a bit.
There was also a mistake on the black clamped hoses price which is now fixed.

Advantages:
Easier to keep looking good.
More resistant to heat and pressure.
They don't 'stick' like conventional hoses, so easier to get on and off without tearing up the ends.
Stay flexible over time, unlike the OEM ones.
OEM hoses do dry rot and spring leaks after some years of use.

As well, I'm supplying 12mm wide full stainless clamps, over the normal 9mm ones; again, this is to add an improvement.
(the black clamps only come in 9mm I'm afraid.)

Listen, I'm not saying that these hoses are a quantum leap over standard hoses, but I always look to see if something can be improved on when thinking and researching about a new product. I sincerely believe these to be that improvement.

Oh yes. I though that I would show this so that you can see I'm not too over the top with price.

Thank you for the thought, but that's not going to work with me living in the UK.

That is also why the cost looks high on the 'worldwide' buttons; it includes $15 shipping.
