after rebuilding-and cleaning and adding a new reservoir O ring,, now I think the whole problem was/is- just leaking out around the cap,,. I wiped down the outside edges of the reservoir and the cover gasket this morning,, then while I was tightening the cover back on I heard a slight 'pop'. I hope the dang thing has finally stopped leaking as brake fluid raises h with the plastic on the fairing.. ? any input,? Im currently convinced this is where the problem lies. :fiddle:

just leave it out in the sun some if brakes lock up that dang hole is blocked ... its like cleaning a honda idle jet that was never meant to come off sheesh ... some of honda tech is big one way as it is the other... some really great stuff and some really bad stuff... if its leaking out the lid id say thats a good sign you migh have it cleared now maybe ...good luck

it's an 83 A with a square plastic reservoir, round on bottom, has a chrome GW lid, rubber gasket between the lid and reservoir. The rubber looks like it's supposed to pull down, (like the ones on most vehicles) I think that's to prevent the fluid from surging around in the reservoir,, that part seems jacked up on mine, and just stays in the up position,, they're probly all like that ,, idk

Yes that gasket only surges down as the fluid level drops. On every master I've worked on with that type gasket on top. I hope that it's now sealed for you.
