yes...iwould loosen all adjust till they sink into the rockers ..2 then sink pistons down halfway down clylinders ...one clylinder haflway donw all haflwY DOWN ....you dont want pistons on t1 till your ready to install belts if thats what your doing ...more info
When the intake valve on cyl#1 just closes, you are on compression stroke. You want to be on the compression stroke when setting valves. If you aren't sure how much or which way it moved, you can rotate it around watching the number #1 intake. I think I put my finger on it to feel it close while turning this over from the side.
