So....I'm in bed, making an attempt to get some sleep, when the doorbell rings...after 11pm. It's the 'lectric company...."We have a power line down across a fence....we have to shut power down and clear some trees to repair".
Loverly...it's ONLY 90+ degrees, and we're not gunna have any A/C? Needless to say, Mama & I dint get no sleep last nite. She asked about 12am iffin we should get a motel room for the nite, but since I had to get ready fer werk in just a little while, I wasn't gunna spend the $$$ for a motel room for 3-4 hours. Opened the window in the den to get some air.....but then we had to lissen to frigggin chainsaws for hours. :rant: Around 6am, I go out and take a look, and they're STILL back there choppin tree limbs. I leave fer work, and Mama calls aboot 7:15 and says the power is back on. Nice....
So... I'm running on aboot 1 hour of sleep today. :yahoo: And....just to make it all better....about 1/2 way thru typing this message...the friggin power goes off here at werk! :rant: :rant: :rant:

Sometime you are the windshield, sometimes you are the bug... Looks like it is Joel's turn to be the bug!

I don't have central air in my house, just the A/C units that hang in the window... I have a generator just for running the A/C in my bedroom window. I had to do without on one of those HOT muggy nights and I won't do it again. The heck with my sons, they can see what I had to deal with when I was growing up in a house with no A/C at all.
