I had purchased this for my trip last fall. At the Cleveland bike show SPOT had a deal that I could not pass up. This device REQUIRES a one year subscription for it to work. The subscription is through SPOT and can be a monthly or yearly payment.

It tracks where you have been. Different rates of sending (minutes for hikers to 60 minutes) depends on the subscription you choose.

You can send up to 10 pre-programmed message to family and friends
SOS button that will contact emergency help and give your exact location

The deal at the Cleveland bike show was with the coupon One bought the gen 3 and they would reimburse the purchase price for the gen 3. So basically they gave out the tracker with a paid subscription. So I am trying to learn how to use it.
The PT2 I bought last fall and had not activated it.
I can not use 2 of them so I sold the PT2.
