well if a 1500 final drive will accept a 1200 wheel ..when adaptd to 1200 bike ... then it seems like a 1200 final will accept a 1500 wheel ...id sure like to figure this out ...if its the wheel that design bad why change the final drive ...i am under the impression that the 88-89 drive flange fits 1200 final ..anyone know anything about this ?

Early 1500's,first 2 or three years had 6 studs on drive for wheel. Later ones have 5,less on a bigger motor makes a lot of sense, don't it?

yes i know that denver 88-89 yrs had 6 hole drive ...ive been rereading everything and ive found solid information that if you put 1500 final drive on 1200 swingarm you get ...a bigger rotor ..brake caliper bracket from 1500 ... and 1200 caliper is the same as 1500 ... brakes are better cause rotor has more leverage from being bigger ....it also says 1200 wheel will fit 1500 final if you dont want a 1500 wheel on the 1200 .... so i am assuming a 1500 wheel will fit a 1200 final ... dose anyone know if my assumption is right or is there someone who can check this out that has the parts ... id sure would like to have 1200 final and 1500 wheel and see if they fit together ...seems like they would ..is where im at ?

Bigger rotor, brake bracket, with modification,go with 1500 wheel,no wheel no bigger disk unless it will bolt to 1200 wheel.

Will find out soon, stitches are out now, still very tender. Will dig out parts when eases up a bit,& check. Sorry to hold you up

denver thats ok ...just gathering info .... if it fits i will get one .... i am thinking that the 88 -89 1500 wheel with 6 lug drive spline will acept a 1200 drive spline or the 1500 spline as is will work ... take your time and heal up denver ..its not like i have the money to move on it right now ...im having my own trouble getting up to par myself right now ..

well to keep the info fresh and up to date .... seems 1100 can accept 1200 final in a pretty much plug and play deal ....so all 1100 guys can have 1200 gearing if they want to modify there bikes ... in the same breath the 1200 can except a 1100 final ...but with som rather major mods to gas tank ....i am doing one of those now ...my bike hooch witch is a 1000 framed bike ...has 1200 final in it ...there are some machining mods to 1000 swing arm piviot pins to do this ... but not real bad ... the 1100 final in 1000 framed bike is the hardest one to do as it invloves driveshaft mod ...ive done this ... dont think ill ever do it again ..to much work for it .....wanting to get 1500 swing arm and final and see how much work this is to do ...to get in to fit 1000 1100 and 1200 bikes

there are wheel base changes in all this switching ... hooch i think is 3" plus longer wheelbase with the 1200 final in the 1000 frame ...early yet cant remember exact figure now .....so thats where everything is at right now .... more to come soon i hope :laptop: :thanks:

Glad you got it sorted out. 1500 Swing arm is a good bit bigger if memory serves, have one in garage as there's a 1500 there. The local m/c boneyard went out of busisness, having traded there for years,he made me some killer deals on any parts left in stock before he closed up.Got 1200 &1500 swing arms, wondered if they interchanged, looked way different

Howdy Joe ! if i got this right.. i can put a 1200 swing arm and rear wheel on my 1100 and only have to mess with the rear brake set up ? How about the drive shaft, will i still use the snap ring on my 1100 out put shaft? Thx Man!

yes this is the easiest switch to do of them all ..if you had 1200 swing arm ....final drive and shaft ....plus the separate u joint connector of 1200 ...rear wheel and brake set up and spacers and axle ...its pretty much plug and play there some miss match at shock mounts too but this is all minor to classic guys .... :builder:

How about some specifics on the 1500 final drive. The four holes to be enlarged...in which swing arm and where? I'm hoping someone does this soon and takes pics and posts. The 1500 wheel is a bit taller than the 1200, 16" to 15".

ok ..it is said 1500 final can work ...and it dose to a certain extent ....but you run into shaft problems as the 1500 drive shaft is much longer ... if you were doing to a 1200 .. there are certain yrs that hook up ... but for 1100 guys ..going 1200 swing arm and stuff is best route to take at what i know right now ....the 1200 swing arm is the best choice in length ... and it seems 1500 wheel should mod to the 1200 final in certain yrs ...i am trying hard to figure this part out ...sheesh need parts ...i have found a lot of the info against doing this is wrong as always ..it seems .. just cant listen to discounters
