Looks like the son-in-law and I are off to sunny SoCal to pick this beauty up in the morning. The kids used to ride a GSXR 1000 but they sold it a few months ago, and after seeing my new bike decided they want to try cruising for a change. Last night I thought I was in the Twilight Zone at dinner. The wife and kids all talking about Goldwings, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Janet talking about how much she likes riding, the kids talking about going for family cruises :ahem:

Anyway it's almost the same deal I got, $4,700 matching mic'd helmets only half the mileage.

If I ride her home for him, it'll be the longest ride ever for me...good thing I'll have my extra comfy CGW t-shirt

The kids are now the proud owners of a 93 1500. It's beautiful bike(not as nice as mine) and rides just as nice. We picked her up in Reseda CA and I rode her home for him. It's really hard to stay under the speed limit on one of these bikes. 85 feels like 45 and they are as quiet as a luxury cager. The trip was 290+ miles and the longest I've ever made on a bike.

I was disappointed in how I physically tolerated the ride. It took an hour and a half to get through LA into the mountains where I could finally take a break. My butt really hurt and my hands were half numb. The seat on this bike is nowhere near as comfortable as mine and the bars were lower than I like so that may be part of the cause of these issues. After the first break I had to break about every 50-60 mins, again with aching bottom and half numb hands. However! it did not ruin the ride or the experience. When the family goes on extended cruises in the future I'll just have to plan frequent rest stops.

Once the bars and seat and controls are adjusted to you. The rides get much more comfy. Congrats to all.

I thought so! I even thought about calling you, but we just didn't have the time. Now I know what it would be like to ride there.

Randy, if Blue doesn't have cruise control, ya gotta get a crampbuster throttle control. I guarantee you will no longer have numb aching hands!
