yes beave they are great I have one installed in the interstate. hmmm sure would be neat in metal like the one in the picture for permanant instalation. good work bro love the idea. :good: :good: :clapping: :clapping: :thanks: chasrogers
I wouldn't use these for a full time cap now  ...they are great for the timing though.. :clapping:

These Timing Sight Caps are not designed to stay in the engine permanently...Do not use them for that purpose...They are great to check your timing....

Hello Chasrogers, I can make you a cap to go on there for a cover I bet, here's would I can do for you, I will place the lense on the top of the pipe opening instead of at the bottom, making it more of a cover...the sight caps are great to see your marks but they need to be removed after you do your check...The new covers will work just fine I'm sure...As a temporary solution until you find a oem one... Don't ya know... :Egyptian: PM me if you need a temporary cover cap made and sent to you, ... It can be done.... :headscratch:

My wife and I decided not to sell these timing sight caps to the genereal public, we had a guy from another site voice his opinion on the lense falling out [it hasn't ], now that wouldn't be good, not very likely being I have a 1/4" thick lense in there now over the 1/8" one I used a while back.. We have found that it would be safer and we won't need to worry about something like this happening if we don't sell them..Sorry guys...Can't do it..

Bev I have a comercial metal one and the lense keeps falling out. I only use it when timming, I don't leave it in. Leaving it in would cause the oil to impregnate the lense and turn it dark (and maby have little lenses?) :smilie_happy:

Thanks you guys, I went and put 1/4" thick lenses in them too  , to insure me the safety of that ever happening, here's what's got me, how hard could it be to force that lense out of the cap somehow then drop that sucker in a engine that's already locked up then claim it was my cap that did it....  Littlebeaver will be in shock... :smilie_happy: for $10.00 it just ain't worth it to us....But I can sure learn someone how to make one..ha ha

There's always a solution, now for the guy's that are worried about my lense falling into their engine I have a solution for that, wrap it in high heat plastic, not saran wrap , something even better, you know the cook in a bags like for a pot roast, those have a much higher heat rating that saran wrap...450 degree's is what I'm talking about  , see all one would need to do is remove the o-ring put some of that plastic in over the lense nice and tight and put the o-ring back on trim up the plastic then spin that sucker down, the lense can't go anywhere as it's contained..Now I may not sell the cap as shown anymore, but I might make a kit instead so you can make it for yourself.. All you would need to do is get some cement.. :Egyptian: Dan's right I'm a little goofy....But I think up some neat stuff.. Like my drink holder, look in the first photo, I took a 3" piece of pvc pipe and cut a piece of plywood to fit the bottom and wrapped it in imitation leather, Best darn cup holder I ever had holds my phone good too..   :smilie_happy: It's even cut at a 15 degree angle for the slope of the tank ha ha so my drink is level...Heeehaaa more coffee please...

Well I have a solution for that lense too, pretty good solution..that plastic works... someone over at the NGW sight got me thinking of pvc pipe but I dreamed up the adapter idea..but they used saran wrap....I thought of the back in the bag stuff..and the rest..
