Will a car tire valve stem fit on a GL1100 rim. I brought new tires and 90 degree valve stems and the stems will not tighten up on the rim, so I'm wordering if I could get valve stems from NAPA.

I sometimes find new car valve stems while walking the dog, I live near a tire center..I used one on the front, the rear is a tight fit with the longer car stems so I will have to use a 90 degree or a stubby one.
Size is the same as cars.

Valve stems come in different diameters...make sure your getting the correct size. I put new ones in both rims last tire change, but don't remember of the top of me head what size they were. I can look in the mernin and see, since I have some extras.

I am using these ones and they are great, just need to pay attention when you are locking the nut and washer up on the inside of the rim. They have a sort of anti tamper cap which spins unless you grab the knurled part.

I don't know about anyone else, but I replace the valve stems every time I replace a tire, maybe that is an overkill, but I have had no problems with losing air pressure. I also make sure the rim is completely clean before installing the new tire.
