Shane, I don't know HID from squat, :smilie_happy: but anyway I'm running a Rally Premium 100/55w 4730 BLB in my 86 model 1200. I got all the light I could ever want. The previous owner installed this one two years ago and I've had no problem with it. It's a Xenon Brite lite- Premium Blue.

Shane: both Lorne and I have the HID conversion kits in our bikes.. and love it, way more light, and alot more coverage on the road.. everyone says they are far more noticable.

we bought a kit for a truck, and split it.. as it contained 2 bulbs.. 5000K bi-xenon, 2 ballasts.. slim, and just ordered a second relay..

Neoracer on the 1200 forum has a good write up on how/where to install it on the 1200, and for my sabre.. it was put the ballast in a brace under the headlight and the relay inside the frame at the front. Using the original bulb plug gives a hi/low beams.. hence the use of a bi-xenon bulb.
