Hello from Alberta. Still enjoying some warm winter temps, already getting the itch for clean streets and riding weather. I just picked up my trunk and top compartment doors from getting repainted. I have a problem with the spring bars for the top door, when I took them apart I did not get a chance to see how they were mounted into the door. As they are not identical, I was wondering if any one there knows which one goes on which side for proper action on the lid. Of course my shop manual doesn't show that much detail, so I am at a loss on re-assembling the top door and springs. Anyone out there that has played in this area before any pointers would be much appreciated. :thanks:

Sorry bout the confusion on the year of the bike, didn't think of it till after I had posted the query. It has been a while since I have visited this fantastic site, and I look forward to trying to return the favor to someone else. Thanx again and will be back soon

Okay from my '85 12 interstate.. the gas door on mine has no spring... the tool and fuse cover does...
