Well.....its gettin on that time to let one go. I don't need 3. 2 maybe. One yes. Actually I've been mulling this over for awhile.

I have an 83 runs good, smooooth.... not too pretty - I kinda care and kinda don't. Thinkin of painting (another thread). This one runs good, sounds good (stereo!). fairing, bags, nice seat.

there is the 78 naked. I thought I'd keep/never sell. It is almost back together. Just about new everything. I like the look but it is not comfortable now that I put euro bars or somesuch on it. Shortened the cable/line$ not going back to stock or putting a windshield on it. kinda for the vintage/rally/show off thing.

last but not least. I have an 80 bike. the one that started me on GL's. 5yrs ago this month. It is still not put together. There have been a few others (sold'em) that got in the way. It is a frame up kinda thing. Powdercoated. 83 wheels. better, newer this and that. It is the one that needs the most work. Planning on putting some hard bags on it and a windshield. Paint. Was thinkin ala road kingish. I want to see it finished on principle.

the thing is I need some space. Garage is full. And I need to move on i.e. finish the other two. I thought I'd sell the 83 to get a little $ to dial in the other two and sell which ever one remaining I liked best. It is the only one running tho.....and I like it. Kinda of a big lunker for short rides but nice to have the amenities..

I have been through the "should have never sold that one" already. I know I'd miss it.
Selling a bike has freed up money/time/space to work on the remaining ones so there is that.

I guess letting go is the bottom line all the way around - life!

Thought maybe I'd get a little input from the crowd.

thanks.

Sell the wife's car. More room in garage, more money to finish the two bikes and maybe some left over for a fourth bike. I suggest putting the one that is uncomfortable back together and sell that one.

~O~

yes i understand pony i got a bunch of them got plenty of room ...and still have trouble working on them...as its hard on me the solvents gas...oils ..brake fluids and all ... so i have to go at things in much slower way ...certainly not something i could do all the time ....

i wish space was my only problem .....sometimes you just got to ignore things ... and do what you like and the heck with reasoning :builder: :cheeky:

I regretted selling my '82 - still one of the prettiest bikes I've ever seen. However, I rarely rode it, and now I sure enjoy the space in the garage. I'll probably fill it with another project, unless I can break my addiction to Craigslist!

I agree with Randy - sell the uncomfortable one.

good advice JD!

2 for selling the 78. hmmm........

I'm with ya. I was tryin to re-create my prior 78 I really liked but sold so I could work on my 83. Doesn't have the same feel and I'm not done with it.

Prob. the first to go... Should sell - lots of cafe racer enthusiasts around here.

take care,
thanks for the input - did me good.
