This is incredible....wish I had the $$$ to be there.....
Lambrecht Chevrolet of Pierce, Neb. auctioning off vintage "collection"

Yeeeeesh......I would LOVE to be there, and have the $$$$ to buy some of it....
Take a stroll down memory lane, ya'll....be sure to watch the video....I almost cried....(and I might yet...the day ain't over ...) :crying:

That is just sic... Car shows and this kind of stuff just kills me, that's why I rarely go to them. The way I covet other people's cars and such is a sin and a serious character flaw.

Funny thing about those day is that a corvair was the car you got when you couldn't afford much else just like the dodge dart or ford maverick, Since now days everything classic has an extra 0 or two in the cost they look allot better then I remember.
By the way vanderbrink auctions is doing the sale so you might want to check them out on the website.

Yeah so true.
Those cars back then looked like CRAP and everyone thought you were a looser for driving them :smilie_happy:
Never thought back then my Dad's Dodge Dart with push button automatic would be worth any more than it's scrap metal value. Sure would love to have one today.

I like the way that we all seem to gravitate to horizontally opposed engines....Even the old Dart had a 6 cyl that didn't stand upright.

I think he said "Unsafe at any speed..!!""

I took my old truck to the car show the other day - I was surprised to see how many Corvairs they had there..!!

~O~

I'm with ya there .... same character flaw here (one of many character flaw's)

BTW what's wrong with alpha beta gamma delta epsilon theta etc........ gawd my college days are coming back to me

Years ago I saw the "test" used to prove how unsafe the Corvair was - 45 MPH on flat pavement, then a slight downhill on gravel and a hard turn at speed. That would flip a Cadillac! That little '65 was the sweetest handling car - next to my '90 Taurus SHO I've ever driven. Of course, the suspension was re-designed in '65, so I don't know how the earlier ones drove, but they made kick-ass dune buggies!

And I sold my 62 Corvair convert for $95.00, an 63 Olds 88 convertible for $100.00, and a 59 Chev. Bellair for $125.00, 57 ford fairlane for free, and a 60 something Vega for trade-in. :head bang: :head bang: :head bang: :head bang: :crying: :crying: :crying:
