And you are making my "cardinal mistake" of looking when you are not ready to buy. Don't do it as its only torturing yourself :head bang:

Don't I know it... :head bang: I've seen this bike along with every single other on craigslist from Nevada to Utah, to Arizona...right now there is a 88 with only 48K in Bakersfield for only $3,600...just $600 out of reach. :Awe: I have about a dozen saved in my favorites, and every day one drops off the list. :crying:

Oh well, guess I'm a true masochist.

Have you seen it in the flesh? And was it hard to give up your first born?

No not yet, but it's been up for about two weeks. If he goes for it and it looks good I'll go for it. One thing I've learned looking at these bikes is the owners are all over the place on price. Some have no problem asking for 8K with 150K on the clock while others are OK with 3.5-4K with 40-50 on the clock. Hell there is a guy expecting 5K with 219K on the clock, calls it "a mechanical bump in the road." :smilie_happy:

I would hate to see what gets left behind when you hit that "mechanical bump"

Beautiful looking bike and I must admit with owning Subarus I normally buy high mileage ones because the price is right and I normally find the maintenance is better. The only one I was disappointed with had low ks and after owning it for a while realised that the odometer had had a hair cut. Also it is a great bargaining tool :good:

Do you really want an Asplencade? I know it's an "83".

You know me and my "projects" - I want to learn the electronics on the newer bikes, and something like this would be a perfect start. And yes, it's an '83, so I have lots of parts for it.

Someday, maybe. I've got a nice '82 project to keep me busy for now!
