I just bought the blue gas additive and added it to the tank. I cranked her up and let her run for a while then shut the gas off until she died. Are there any other suggestions for northeatern winters?

My suggestion is we should get on our bikes and ride south untill the winter is warm and come back when its over... look at the money we would save on additives and tents and winter storage and ...............

1060,

I just moved back to the States after four years in southern Spain. I'm having a hard time getting used to anything below 50 degrees.

That sounds like too much work! My solution to too much work is adding some extra layers, changing to the 3/4 helmet, and wearing the heavier boots. As long as the roads are dry... ride on!

Well lookie there, Dan....there WAS someone on the member map in Spain after all!! :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I have decided to ride as long as I can stand it this year. In the past, if the temps got below 54 or so, it was just too dang cold. So far this year, I have been in 43* temps in the mornings. With the extra gear I bought recently, it ain't been too bad! :yahoo:

When it does get too cold to ride, I just leave it parked in the garage. I haven't ever done anything special to winterize, but the winters down here ain't quite as harsh as they are up north....bbbbrrrr!

I do the gas storage additive like you do and also shoot some storage spray into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. I do it once, spin the motor, then spray it again and spin the motor again. I'm sure there's more I should do but that's it for me.

Change the oil and filter, drain the crankcase vent resevior under the left side so it does not freeze, and dont forget to disconnect the battery.

Brian,

Navy Chief, Navy Pride!
USN 1992 - Until...they stop paying me?

Your story sounded like you were moving at Uncle Sam's expense from one Navy Base to another. Thanks for doing what you do where ever you do it at. Wish I was still in but having MS and being classified as "not fit for ship-board duty" pretty much ended my career at the CPO level. At least I was able to stick around until I hit 20. Now I work at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center for a Retired Captain (Nurse) and it sure is nice when I hear her call me Chief.

Brian,

I drive back and forth from Groton, CT to Canton, OH several times a year on HWY 80. Is that anywhere near you?

:clapping: Sounds to me there is a road trip for you two to meet! :rocks: :yahoo: :Egyptian: :salute: BTW One of my favorite brothers was in the Navy. I love to look at a man in a Navy uniform!
