    Funny Pic / meme thread

Anyone who has owned a BMW from that period can CLEARLY identify the seat, muffler and most of the rear end of the bike as BMW. They started with a BMW and modified it to make the prototype.

    GL-1000 tach drive housing

Hey gang, When I pulled the fuel pump off of my 76 GL-1000, there was engine oil inside of the tachometer drive housing. Is this right? Someone told me that the housing should be dry inside with the spiral gears lubed with grease. But the Honda parts list shows only 3 oil seals for the...

    Old Valkyries gather

I love my 1500 Goldwing, but those early Valkyries were one of the prettiest bikes ever made. The only thing that turns me off about 'em are those six carburetors. I went through enough hell dealing with the four carbs on my GL-1000.

[Poll] Which side do you mount and dismount?

Left side always, and I tell my passengers to do the same. Interesting tidbit: On the old "Chips" tv show, Ponch and Jon always got on from the RIGHT side. Always thought that was weird and was probably something from Highway Patrol training.

    Four wheeled adrenaline

My best friend has a 2010 Corvette that we have traveled from New Jersey to Tennessee and back in. He won't let me drive it either. LOL!! I still needle him about it. I can't complain too loudly. He GAVE me his beautiful '99 Goldwing...free! Gratis! No charge! Friends don't come much better...

    GL-1000 valve adjuster - Help!

Hey guys, I need the threaded valve adjuster and the locking nut for my '76 GL. (the part that screws into the rocker arm) The only place that I've found that has them is a site called "parts and more". These guys want FIFTEEN bucks to ship a four dollar part that will fit in an envelope. Does...

    need some harley help

Let's see if I can help.... My buddy bought an '89 Harley that wasn't charging. On the FRONT of the engine is a small rubber boot with a pair of wires that plug in under the boot. Those are the wires to the alternator. We found his wires to be loose and covered in dirt that was kicked up by the...

    Odd C5 glitch...and quick fix!

So far I have been VERY happy with my C5 system on my '76 Wing. Yesterday morning, the bike wouldn't start. It cranked and popped a bit, but no start. I had to go to work, so I left it and took the truck. This morning, just as an afterthought, I pulled the cover off of the C5 housing on the back...

What did you do to your Wing today ?

What did I do with my Wing today? Funny you should ask! I spent a good part of today in the shop working on the Wing. I have most of the back end torn apart. I changed the oil in the final drive and cleaned up a lot of areas that I couldn't reach with the bike in one piece. It's amazing how...

    1955 Triumph Tiger PIA

I guess they changed things a few years later. I had a '70 MGB. It was 12V negative ground and I never had an electrical problem with it. It always started easily and ran well.

Not mine. Covered with tatoos. What a mess. :sensored:

    C5 threads

I agree. The C5 was easy to install and my 76 pulls like a freight train with it installed. Expensive, but worth it. After all the smooth, fun riding I got out of it this summer, the money spent has been forgotten.

    Michelin Commander II tires?

Ok, just checked the load rating. Their front tire in 120/90 17 is rated 64S, which means it can carry 617 pounds at 112 miles per hour. That should be MORE than enough for my 76 Wing, even when used as a rear tire. (especially since there is no way in hell I'll ever take that bike to 112...
