Riding home on my 79 gl1000 the other day and started running on 2 cylinders or my be 3 but feels like 2. It would kick in occasionally but in 15 miles on a couple times. Where should I start? Carbs? Electrical? Just getting a few ideas.
Have a 79 gl1000 that the nuetral light stays on all the time. Understand it might be stuck or just bad. Where's it located and does oil need to be drained to fix or repair? Thanks all..
Purchased a 1979 with 30000 miles with supposedly gone through carbs bit it idles at 2000 rpm. Not what I want. Anyway to lower it With an adjustment? Thanks.
No accessories. All stock 1979 to my knowledge. Reading is strictly from the tank gauge. Just running at 70 I noticed the meter reading around 11 volts. I'd never seen it that low but this is a new acquisition so I'm seen trying to figure it all out. Thanks for info.
Could it be just age? Say it was the original one would corrosion cause it to blow prematurely? It was in pieces but that may just because it was hot. Thanks again.
