Non removable idle jets on these... I think after 83 they were removable...

Not the main jet tube... Although pretty similar. The ones I've got left over are only about 2/3 the diameter of that one. So she's all back together, and fires right up... But loses a cylinder at idle and wants to die. Guess I'll work on tuning them tomorrow!

Carb kits came in!!! Just finished up #1, and there's left over parts... Not uncommon in the automotive world, but I've never done bike carbs. I don't see anywhere these belong. Have I overlooked something?

I was seeing the same thing.... If I'm going to do them, it's better to do all or nothing! Wouldn't want a few tiny parts and a few extra bucks in my pocket to be what leaves me on the side of the road...

Got three idle screws to zero... 4th was bent, and broke. Thought about sticking in the Kawasaki replacement, but broke down and ordered the full rebuild kit.

Three jets completely blocked. One with pin hole passage. Now she fires right up with throttle, but won't idle at all. Gets real rough under 2500 rpms, and dies the second the throttle is released. Smokes like crazy. Pulser problem N/A.

I checked out your post Aapple, looks like you painted the pulser cover too? I got into this hydrodipping craze, and threw mine down in some snake skin. I might have to do more, since this cover will never be seen! Why do all my photos get turned sideways??

That's my plan purple, I pull the carbs to get the motor out anyway, so that's where's I'll start. As soon as I can get out of work! If the motor has to come out, so be it...

The carbs sat for a few months off the bike... I'm thinking something is all gummed up. I can pour a splash of gas down her neck, and it will purr for about 3 seconds. Notice how I'm avoiding the topic that requires removing the motor? Lol... Honestly, it's not that bad... If it's coming back...

Pulser cam 180° out? Switched blue and yellow wires, and it didn't even attempt to backfire.... so I put em back. Instead of carb cleaner, I threw in a splash of gas and she wants to run!!! Pulled the fuel pump outlet hose, and there's plenty of pressure and flow. Eased back the bottom screws...

I wouldn't mind trading for some mudflaps! Do you live somewhere that parks the bike for a while in winter? I can do them in a weekend, but round trip shipping might make this a two week ordeal. I'll do a pair of your lights, and do a step by step so you can do the others... or I can do them...

She was a little tricky to start, as the starter never spun very fast, but a bit of coercion would get her singing.... but the battery wasn't charging! Tired of jumpstarts, I bought a stator and regulator, saving the alternator project for next time. Also replaced the rectifier. And of course...

She just got a new stator. Whew! Now that it's done, it wasn't that bad... My starter arrived today, along with the shifter seal. The dodge neon coil is frickin sweet, but I've got to do the relay mod. If all goes well, I'll be able to rock that throttle back on Sunday!

Decided the incandescent bulbs gotta go... After shopping around and finding nothing better than replacement bulbs, I decided to build my own! 4 rows of LEDs. Row 3 is running lights, which flash inversely with the other rows as turn signals... Stay tuned for the rear signals and brake light!
