I checked western honda and they said that there is nothing there to order in any honda warehouse. I checked several other places for old stock and came up nil.

I guess we are running out of OEM head gaskets.

Bummer, I guess so.

You might try Cheapcycleparts, they still have them listed https://cheapcycleparts.com/model_years/ ... blies/4143

All I can say for certain about the aftermarket gaskets reliability is in my own experience DO NOT get them from Saber Cycle.
I had one fail in under 500 miles then the next one before 1000 miles.

I was thinking of going with Vesrah, That is what western honda and georgefix on ebay sells. both sellers have really good reputations.

I will check cheap cycle parts tomorrow. Now say I just find the head gaskets. Where do I get the rest of the top end kit?

Well basically other than head gaskets you need the 2 oil orifice O rings to put the head back on.
I would also replace the coolant crossover tube O rings, 2 each side.
If you removed the coolant head flange fitting then need a gasket there.
If the carb intake O rings are old then need 2 each side.
All of these seals should still be available from Honda. I usually order these as separate items rather than a top end "kit"

Thanks for the help, there are also gaskets under the plates under the timing gears on the heads. I wonder if I should even bother with them? then there is the fuel pump end.

Also there are two other gaskets from the gasket kit A I cannot identify.

There is the gasket, (cylinder head cover) 1 req. 12391-371-306

and gasket (breaker) 2 req. 30376-371-306

the breaker cover gasket should not be needed.. ( electronic ignition) ... also I might consider getting the valve cover gaskets... as for the behind the timeing gear plate.. mine had no gasket to the head.. the shaft had a gasket in the head and cover..

The gasket (cylinder head cover) only requires one, so it is not the valve cover.

The (gasket head cover) 2 req 12328-371-000 is the valve cover gasket.

But now I know what the breaker gasket is.

Hello, I am new here and have a blown head gasket also. I am having trouble finding a honda head gasket let alone a top end gasket kit. All the parts in the kit have been discontinued by honda. I am looking at a vesrah kit. It seems we are running out of oem head gaskets for the 1100s

Honda dealers can still order them as well as the online suppliers like cheapcycleparts.com

Have you tried them?

I got mine from cheapcycleparts.com They where to me in a couple days.

Welcome to the site from New Jersey! :clapping:

I have been ordering OEM parts from Honda Direct:

https://www.hdlparts.com/

Called hdl parts and got refered to a dealer that had the stuff. Could not get through to cheapcycleparts after several tries.

I will be putting it back together soon so I will need some more help maybe. Thanks for the info.

All I got was auto hold. Then it asked me to dial 1 to get a call back and nobody ever called. I figured they where very busy or a phone problem.

Another unrelated question, my starter drags and I want to fix it. Is there a rebuild kit and is it worth it?

My personal experience with rebuilding turned out bad, then had it done at a shop twice figuring I did something wrong or the first shop missed something. It still turned slow then not at all when hot.

Found this kit on Ebay: https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0238918361
The armature should be turned, end play adjusted, checked for shorts and resistance to have a proper rebuild IMO. Many guys have gotten by with just a cleaning of the internals and new brushes. Didn't work that way for me so I bought a NEW high torque starter which spins the engine like the spark plugs are removed with 165 compression.
It was almost $200 from stockers.com (scroll down about 1/2 way on that page) but I don't worry about it cranking anymore, even with a low battery it keeps cranking at a good speed.
I see they have the same one I bought now reduced to $129 :crying:
Stocker has a rebuilt 1000 starter for $119 :eek:k: $50 core charge

Thanks for the help. I am going to get the head back together first, and once I get that working, I will mess with the starter. Thanks for the link.

I took the radiator off and dropping it at the radiator shop for a boil out. Then I am going to take the cover off the water pump and check the impeller, also changing the thermostat before I put the front end back together.

Just wanted to let everybody to know the 1100 is up and running fine thanks to Dan and everybodys help. I did not use sealer on the OEM honda head gasket. This question comes up a lot.
