sheesh 1200 heads without a hot air head crack channel ....gee these have got to be the best heads honda made for 1200s ...it really took a long time to find that so slight crack in side car Susie bike ....dan remembers

yes as always flashes work is something few can do ...

I was looking on E-Bay at different 1200 heads and they all have those air holes. That's weird that they made two different heads for the 1200 . Maybe I could sell my spare heads at a premium price. LOL

Do you think we could make tapered plugs of one sort or other, heavy gauge metal & O ring for a tight fit, held in place by intake's maybe? :headscratch: Probably not much if any other difference in heads, could very well be wrong. But is it advantages ? :headscratch:

One way to plug the holes is, you can try freeze plugs they come in different size.
There is heat coming out of them under some exhaust pressure so rubber probably not a good idea though I do have mine plugged using rubber fuel hose at the end of the stock tubes and don't see any problem yet.

Didn't realize freeze plugs were available that small, not a lot of experience replacing them. Easy to poke a hole in, & remove them with a screw, if need be. :good: Welding means you would have to RE DRILL holes, not for me. :nea: Where's the advantage in this anyway? :headscratch:

Nope, this build is finish and sold, I'm working on a new project.

This is a 1998 Valkyrie I got off a guy for $2000 with 39,000 KLM in good shape. He didn't drive it much and it was parked outside under a tarp. The wheels were in bad shape so I got them powder coated, the brake fluid I think was never changed so you can guess the rest, complete brake job. So, this bike came apart and I changed , fix or modify anything that wasn't the way I like it. This is my second Valk, the first one in the picture is the same year and colour I had 6 years ago. Compared to my 1800 Wing, this bike is fun to work on it doesn't take hours to do a simple job. I still have my 1800 and my 1200 ASP but I do like the Valk the best. I will sell the other two in the spring, plates are expensive here in Montreal.

Do you have any other type of plate? :headscratch: Here in Ohio we have a historical plate, cost's less than one year of regular plates, & expires on your 100th birthday. :good: Only for pleasure driving, not for work, or business, etc. Must keep a current plate to use on your everyday vehicle. This year my 91 turns 25, will be the last M C plate till i'm 100. :yahoo: Only way i can think about affording M B S, liability ins is $25 X 4=$100 a year for ins with no lay up, + gas, & parts to play, still expensive, but less than a lot guys with one newer bike, having it serviced, + full coverage ins pay. :heat: And i have a choice of what to ride, can take my time fixing with something else similar or the same to ride. :whistling:
