Those Pazon spark units are almost $160 each, ouch.
I think putting a 82 or 83 ballast resistor on the earlier coils will prevent the meltdown.
Just thinkin out loud here,.........my old '68 Dodge Dart had a ballast resistor on the firewall for the ignition on my slant six 225 engine. I had the same engine in my old '56 Chris Craft boat. I had swapped out a seized 6 for a junkyard runner and did not know about the ballast resistor. After about 8 hours of running, the points would burn up and I had all kinds of ignition problems. Installed the resistor and the motor ran like a champ!

Point is, maybe those Dodge Dart type ballast resistors are available!
The 70's Dodge vans had a resistor also.
Possibly would work. I need to look more into this.
I don't quite understand what resistor value would be needed and why.

i don't know why ,but those things wouldn't let a doge run with out them. had a couple that would just up and stop running tried changing plugs. roters .pionts. condensers. wouldn't help. change that ceramic piece and then it would run.

resistors are out there ...one thing for sure ...im not paying that kind of money for a product price high like its the only game it town .....i wouldnt line the pockets of such people ever

I think I still have a resistor for a '79 wing if anyone is interested.

Brad
I'll take you up on that, Brad.
What I want to do is collect all the resistors and compare them with the coils against all the different models so we can find new replacement crossovers.
I'll pm my address to you and let me pay at least the shipping.
