..I took this apart and noticed it has a little clashing/rubbing between the two pieces...it doesn't look like it has done this a lot... but...since i am new to this motor, i just need some better advice......i had someone to tell me this was becasue of a weak spring or weak springs....the clutch housing has spider cracks....is this normal....should i replace the clutch spring...the whole clutch....thanks for your support.

A picture of the clashing would help but I suspect your referring to some grooving in the basket from one of the hard plates.
The books say the basket should be replaced in this case although if it's minor I would not.

I have a couple baskets that have that spidering.
I don't think it's cause for concern.

...yes..it's the clashing in the bottom of the basket.....where the plate rubs it sometimes....it's not bad...just looks like a little rub.....I have taken this bike all the way down to restore....it has been sitting for a couple of years before i talked the ole man out of it.... :clapping: ..so i am just wanting a peace of mind and going throuh it....so i am having some kinks here and there...since this is my first one to take apart....even though i am good with wrenches and a meter....i also look for other advice along the way...thanks for your support.... :good:
