Howdy from Grand Rapids MN.

I thought I was all done moving and here I am most of the way through a move from Virginia to Minnesota.
I thought I was all done riding motorcycles and here I am with a "brand new" 87 Aspencade I couldn't resist.

Never say "never", I guess. Looking forward to doing the minor repairs and paperwork to get it on the road while the weather is so nice.

Thanks for having me.

Ed Thomas

Thanks, everyone. Since I saw my first one in 1979, I think I always wanted a GoldWing, but felt like it was an extravagance. This one fell in my lap. VERY heavy, but my lap is okay.
It's been 20 years since I rode any motorized bike, so I'm taking my time about the whole thing. I know it sounds weird, but I feel sort of "honored" to be allowed to have one, if that makes any sense.

Yep that's weird, but then again we have never been accused of being normal here. :Egyptian:

Been accused of a few things but "normal" ? That would be new. :smilie_happy:

Welcome from Winnipeg. Do your reading to get riding again. In your area, you will need to watch for deer. They are probably the biggest danger to a cyclist especially at night. I did a few night runs from east of you, Bemidji, Brainerd, International Falls, back towards the Dakotas. Amazing how many deer come out to eat along the roadsides there.

Yes, the deer are plentiful and dangerous here. In fact, that is how I wound up with this bike -- the previous owner dumped it with wife onboard because of slamming into a deer. Just replaced the left mirror today which was ground away to the ball joint with road rash. There are a few loose things on the fairing yet and some missing trim but otherwise seems intact. It has been idle for over two years but starts easily and runs okay. Still going over things.
