Is there a point being made here?

the point is delete this if you are not interested. If not ask admin to do that.I tried deleting it,I couldnt. The key point is do I want to spend 28,000 for a new goldwing when i can get one for 1500 with the same performance.I apparently am the only one that finds that intrigueing.oh well.

oh no ...i didnt post cause i dont have any experience with the 28000$ bike or even a used one ...many here like me couldnt go for a big dollar bike at all ...hooch started out a 300$ bike ....but there some here that have both .....personally im oldschool and like the oldwing 4s ...as they fit me well ....seems the newer wings would be more heavy than i want ....a valk is my limit on me to handle i think ive never rode one

I owned a 20,000 ultra.if you want heavy loud and underpowered that is the way to go.The valkyrie I owned my absolute limit in weight.Very flickable but it is impossible to ride slow. With hot cams,6 carbs and 100 pounds of torque at 40 mph it sounds like you are in first gear.Plus it only got 30 mpg.I was at 110mph way too many times.

Dude, relax. I asked a simple question. No one had replied to your post. (We didn't know how to). You posted two links to a couple of vastly different machines with absolutely no verbiage to indicate what consideration or under which context to comment on them. We didn't know you were weighing the pros and cons of purchasing one or the other, or whether you were mulling the technological evolution that has developed, or making a weight comparison, power delivery, handling, price, etc.

For sure, $28k is a lot to spend on any motorcycle. More that I'd be willing to go. I am very happy with my two - and I have both for far, far less than that.

I dont need to relax.I gave a simple answer.

Bottom line for me is I refuse to buy anything I need to make payments to own. Valk is my limit both in price and size. Love my 1200's too.

Sorry. I acted assholeish.too stressed and has nothing to do with a motorcycle. I do wish someone here would buy my 78 stuff.nevertheless i apologize. Ive learned a lot here.

Sorry to hear of a stressful time there. Bad time of year to sell motorcycles. Great time to buy though so. I wish you the best of luck. Around here it seems the Harley's are a lot more desirable.

Out of debt is a great thing and a fine goal. 40 years of paycheck to paycheck and worrying about bills was enough for me.

Out of curiosity where the heck is Denton?

denton is about 40 miles from either dallas or fort worth. We are about 125,000 but denton county is 780,000.The metroplex is 6.7 million.

I dont want to sell anything but the harley to get rid of the debt. But the reason i want to sell my 78 stuff is because since 1972 I have had a bike to ride in my driveway.Right now there are many many goldwings at good prices i could buy and ride home. But the harley has to go first.I do not know if I will ever get one of my 78's done and rideable.being bikeless is very hard for me.Once the harley goes i have to have one other to ride. There is a goldwing with everything under the sun done to it already for $1000.That's what I need.
