98 valk tourer noise

I must be getting used to the bike although it's still new to me. I'm getting a noise usually under load at random rpm. It sounds almost like quietly pouring pea gravel. It lasts only a few seconds at a time but is very annoying. Then on my last ride with it I got intermittent buzz feel in the footpegs. It seemed to alternate with the noise. Once home and stopped it smelled like hot rubber.
Any ideas here? :headscratch:
I'm thinking it may be a bad belt idler. I will be pulling the covers later to have a look. :thanks:

I smelled burning rubber when I had a bad belt tensioner.

edit- If that is the problem this is the only place I could find new tensioners.

That's what I figure it probably is. I'll get the covers off later today and have a look see.

If you're smelling hot rubber, idler is about all it can be unless the belts are rubbing something.

could be the U joint, if ya feel it in the pegs, Or the Buzz bar behind the Radiator, bolt runs through the frame and needs to be tighten, Buzz bar fix is on Acceleration.... U joint is more noticeable on Decel
