a friend has either a '65 or '66 honda and needs help finding the vin on the frame, does anyone know where the vin would or should be on the frame? i'm at a loss on this, my oldest honda was a '69 cb350ss

I think the small cc bikes that had stamped frames ( sheet metal ) located the vin further down but I'm not sure. That far back though the VIN should be on a plate and stamped into the frame somewhere.

This thread raises a question.....do we have a list of engin numbers and frame numbers??? I have done some research in this areaand havw a list of these numbers for 75 GL's through 87 for Standard,Interstate and Aspencades. If we don't already have the list would be happy to clean up my crappy notes and provide it.

We did at one time??? :headscratch: It was a spread sheet. Maybe before the crash?? :headscratch: I am going to have to search my files because I know that I used that list to verify my '81 engine actually was in an '81 frame when I got the parts bike.
