70 year old here from Blenheim Ontario, with a newly aquired 78 barn find (last October )in the shed . 47919 Kilometers on her .(sorry no picks )...No its not my first wing but thought id given up on wings in my life till i came across this old gal.
Vetter Tupperware is now off and the Tank given the full anti rust treatment using electrolysis. When i said to the wife im getting it She said "i knew it" all i had to do was take one look at your face ...i guess after 51 years of married life they can spot "wing fever"when they see it . ..Anyway ,Timing belts replaced (im lucky no clunks or bangs at all :).Carbs taken off and cleaned at the shop seafoamed and fresh Gas today and running like a real sweetheart ,but needs tires and brakes.Wheels are so stiff they will hardly turn, but i do run her on the center stand now and then (in first) and of course at very low rpms, and i feel she is starting to limber up .Probably not the safest thing to do but any port in a storm .I think the guy said she sat for what 17 years ,Mufflers are shot but i did buy a nice set of slip on's off a Harley Road King for 50 bucks. No nicer hobby than breathing new life into an old wing,or for that matter an ole phart :Egyptian:.
Thanks for the welcome folks ,much appreciated and y'all have a great spring and keep the rubber side down :hi:

Welcome aboard. After that long of slumber you may want to grease the driveshaft splines and change the final drive gear oil.

Thanks for the reminder Slabghost, :thanks: Sure will include greasing the drive shaft splines and changing the final drive gear oil when i take her in for the new sneakers..Had the same guy do the severe once over for rust already (she passed )and im lucky as he is a die hard Winger from way back ... :clapping:
