Saw a lot of sandbagging stuff in the news here. I hope all my friends here are out of the bad stuff.

I live in the San Fernando Valley which is pretty much all concrete.
The streets flood some but no mud flows.

Where they really got it bad whenever it rains is in the burn areas but I was up where it hasn't burned and some mud has come down from above the roads.
Ground here is just too loose and can't stand steady rain like this.

We've had roads closed and "lakes" (puddles) across the streets. Some places have a shallow stream of water flowing across the road. It rained here Friday through Monday non stop. Sometimes it lightened up a little, but it kept right on coming down. Today it let up, although I had to use the wipers for the sprinkle at lunch time. The lakes across the roads seem to have receded some. At least we can slowly drive almost around them now. Tonight the cold wind is kicking up. I wonder if it's blowing the last one out, or a new one in.

Our streets here are hilly like a roller coaster going up and down. The houses at the bottoms always have to sandbag for the rough El Niño's. Luckily we live about a block up from the bottom. :yahoo:

It's ok, I'm still not ready to trade weather with you yet. :smilie_happy:
I'm happy to know you guys are doing okay.
I'm right in the Ohio valley and minutes from the Ohio river so it does occasionally flood nearby. For floods to reach the level of my house though would require rains in biblical proportions. I might get stranded but I'll stay above the waterline.

With a little luck there won't be any water rationing this coming year. I would think this rainfall just about got the quota filled.

:hi: wELL THE GOOD FOLKS HERE IN CALIFORNIA WILL MAKE SURE THERE IS WATER RATIONING.....THEY WILL OVER ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF RUNOFF AND DRAIN OFF THE RESAVORS AND LAKES SO THAT THEY WON'T BE FULL IF THAT DOSEN'T WORK THEY WILL ALSO HAVE TO RELEASE MORE WATER FOR THE SPRING SALMON RUN AND MORE WATER FOR THE CROSS LEGGED BUG EYED FROGS OR SOMETHING AND OF COURSE MORE WATER DOWN THE PERIFIRAL CANAL TO SO CAL...THEREFORE NORTHERN ACL IS ALWAYS IN WATER RATIONING.....BOB

Frogs have feelings too! :Doh2: :thank_you:  :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I just got back from Ohio (sorry Joe, not enough time to make it to Indy) and we ate at a Chinese buffet where frogs legs were available on the buffet table! (OH NOOOOOOO!!) :yahoo:
