Are the 83 Aspencade fork sets the same as the 84 1200?

So guys... The fork sets on the 83 Aspencade with trac and fork brace, are they the same as the 1200 forks? Or are there differences...

Im of the same thoughts...but i havent had anything to do with the later wings. Mine has been all 1000 and early basic 1100.
they looked similiar but I think that they are quite different at the top end...the air inputs etc...
the reason im asking is because the aspencade Ive picked up has a bit of rust on the fork legs so Im looking at my options for their replacement or reconditioning etc..I doubt that the legs would be same as earlier 1100's with standard forks without the TRAC system?

The 1100 forks are 39mm....I believe the 1200 forks are 42 mm. I don't think you can mix and match anything but the entire 1100 fork and wheel should bolt on to a 1200

I'm wanting 1200 to 1100...if I was going to customise a front end I'd maybe try and find a Valkyrie front end... USD forks. Or Suzuki M109r front end.

I'm sure the 1200 would fit the 1100... another member here, Wolfie666, had a complete 1200 fork on the first custom wing he build... 82 1100 frame

The 1200 forks are 41 mm, same as the 1500. The Valkyrie apparently has 45 mm front forks. To go from these to the 1100 would need the triple tree as well. Having found this out, a set of forks from a Valkyrie on my 1500 would be nice. Another research project.

That would be the plan.. If it were either Suzy m109r or Valkyrie font end it woyld be a full front end with custom wire wheels..

So.. Another question re forks... Are the 1100 standard fork tubes different to the 83 fork tubes... The only difference being Honda's TRAC antidive system they had?
Reason I'm asking is my 83 forks are fairly pitted and looking at buying a set thru David silver but it states non Aspencade...

- there is something different from Asp. to other models (in 83). Maybe search through the parts and you can tell what's different in the two types of assemblies.

Seems a bit strange that Honda would produce only one model with forks that were different. Not standard 1100 and not the upgrade to the 1200 either..
