aspencade to naked

Hi there has any one converted an aspencade1200 to naked ,some of the stuff on my bike is not so good so i thought that i might go minimalist and strip back the old girl an slim her down.Prices for resonable gear in the UK are silly when you can get it. Any comments. :moped: :builder:   Dagodave.

The other day, I removed the fairing for speedo repair and realized how heavy it was.
It's really temping to go naked. Oldwing cafe racer, Oldwing bobber, etc.
Unfortunately around here cars go 80MPH on freeways and I am too old to resist the wind to keep up with them.

I have healthy respect to Harley ape hanger riders. That must be h*ll a lot of upper body exercise.

Welcome to all things oldwing. I'm pretty sure the faux tank will need trimmed nd smoothed or an older one modified to fit. Other than that it should be pretty straight forward to strip it down. Add on headlamp ears and lights are pretty common.

Welcome to classic. The mice thing about OldWings is that parts are easy to find. Take something off and if you like the way it looks, keep it off!

I converted an 1100i to naked, a lot more work and parts than I imagined. A 1200 would be a lot more problems than an 1100 unless you could find a 1200 std parts bike.

I have done a couple of naked bikes

83' GL1100 was a Interstate

86' GL1200 was a Interstate

84' GL1200 was a Aspencade Project bike

There is naked and then there is VERY naked.

I mean you can build a naked Standard bike or you can build a very naked bike without all the extras, like all the bars and correct parts, to make you a custom naked.

My 86' does not have the engine guard bars, the exhaust has been striped down and modded, the headlight and turn signals are after market
