Background checks

Pre-employment background checks. I've never had this done before. Seems to be the new fad since Katrina and the economy. Anybody know how far back they go?
7yrs? 10yrs? 20yrs? All the way? Think they'll find out I've only been good for 29 years?

I don't have a clue...
I can see the need for such things for teachers, law enforcement, day car workers, etc., but for EVERYTHING? Background checks, credit checks, what's next? Why make it so hard for an AMERICAN citizen to simply find employment? No wonder they all want to hire illegals....their backgrounds are SPOTLESS... :rant:

I been wondering how that friggen new law works.

I believe they are mostly looking to make sure your a legal citizen (sp), at least that's one thing.
