What did I just miss? Relationship between bank angle sensor (BAS) and mechanical/electrical fuel pump?
Does a BAS turn off the electrical fuel pump when you fall over? This inquiring mind wants to know. :thanks:

Bank angle sensor on later models does turn off fuel. On some 1100's the bank angle sensor is there only for turn signal off. I'm pretty sure but not positive that wasn't an option until "83 maybe "84.

I always have a female bank angle sensor when riding two up. When she feels we are leaning too far over or moving too quickly while cornering she will pinch or smack me.

Bank angle sensors are on 1500's, guess they were on the 85 & 86 fuel injected models as well, have never worked on one of the F I models.

The first bank angle sensor was used on the '82 and it is part of what triggers the self cancelling turn signal to go off. I happen to have 3 of them at the moment as a result of buying pieces to rebuild my '82 turn signal system. These sensors do not shut the fuel off on the '82 or '83 models.

I think they kill the motor in the event of a laydown as well but I might be mistaken. Just seems like I remember reading that somewhere. Never had to test the theory thank goodness.

The B A S to kill the current to coils, was used first on the 1200 F I according to the info i've read. :read: They were recalled on the 1500's but had already bypassed it, & never have got a new one. :whistling:The other sensors talked about shut off the turn signals :rtfm:
