I thought and thought then decided this ignition should go into the Goldwing Customizing forum, since it is well.......Custom!

I'm going to ask C5ignitions to tell us more in this thread about this newest kit and it's development, I'm just so excited about this news I couldn't wait to post a picture of it!

This kit solves a lot of problems for our bikes:

1. Upgrades the weak coils.
2. Gives a nice hot spark.
3. Does away with the unavailable vacuum advance unit. It is there just for looks and to plug the hole now.
4. No more centrifugal advance.
5. On top of this, multi spark, better timing, and 3 (or is it 4) selectable advance curves.

Dan,

We will be installing this in a few days, so we can verify spacers and hardware for our kits.
These will come with 4 pre-installed curves, which you can manually select, or we are working on a vacuum operated kit that will communicate timing needs to the computer.

As you mentioned, the old advancer is just for looks. After our initial success with the GL1000, and repeated nagging from you, we decided to push the GL1100 to the front of the our "honey do" list. So anyone who thinks Dan doesn't get things done...think again!

I'll just tease you guys with a little information. As many of you know, we use optical triggers instead of magnets. This is more reliable, more accurate, and allows crank/cam position to be tracked 90 times per revolution. This allows unparalleled response times and is the most accurate ignition that exists today. We are very proud to use PowerArc components exclusively, and we strive to keep all manufacturing here in the midwest.

We dont have a price yet, since i dont know cost of all the parts. Our kits (i see you own a Triumph also) start at $300.
Retail on this kit should be close to our CB750 kit which is $439 including the ignition, quad coil, mount, four new wires, and all necessary hardware. You will have 4 curves free, can change rev limiter or build custom curves without adding additional hardware.

Most people never have a need changing all that, but like me, want to know it can be done later. I suggest you get on your bike and ride instead of sitting in the garage tuning. JUST RIDE

Looks like a sweeeeet set-up! Opti triggering is definitely the most accurate way to go. My only concern is moisture....Opti systems don't tolerate moisture very well. Is this something you have considered during the planing/R/D stage?
Other than that, I like the idea....sure would be nice to get rid of the mechanical crap we have now..... :good:

I remember Aapple asked that question once before and I don't think it was answered.
What's the word Paul?

The ignition housings are gasketed so I'd imagine that would be adequate but what do I know.

I can see where that would do it. :thanks:

I'd like to hear from Paul as to why the 1000 wouldn't
fit in the original housing like the 1100 does.
I want one of these! But for me, that is a LOT
of money to come up with.
(although I'm sure that later on I'll be glad I did it.) :yahoo:
