I'm thinking of riding my '82I out to Glacier National Park from central Minnesota. Will I have problems with my carbs at a much higher altitude?

The 1100 carbs do pretty good at high altitudes.
The higher altitude with thinner air makes an engine run richer so you'll probably smell unburned gas out the exhaust and slower idle.
Have a screwdriver handy to bump the idle speed up a bit if needed, otherwise you should be fine.

If your air/fuel mix screws have been set recently for todays gas blends you should have no trouble.
