On My Goldwing , on the Carb Intakes , 3 have a screw in them and 1 has a little Brass fitting where you can slide a small vacume line on........ anybody know where I might buy 3 more of these little brass fittings ????

I finally found a little bike shop that could order me a full set of 4 of them...........should be here Tue. :music:

Better yet Joe, offer him 20 bucks a month to ride all of his wings to keep them operational! It seems like the humane thing to do and it is a public service! :smilie_happy:

My situation is very similar. I am working through the regular stuff, including Sea Foam and ATF (not at the same time). Things seem to be getting smoother (thanks everyone!) but still some hesitation. I want to check the carbs for synchronization, and thought I would try one of those homemade bottle testers, BUT....

... what are those brass thing-a-ma-hogs (or should I say "thing-a-ma-Wings") called? Someone recommended denniskirk.com as a source. I went to the website and realized I have no idea what to even search on! Also, I could call around or google for them, but I don't know what to call them! Are they a standard type thing that can be found locally at a hardware store, or more of a special part? (I hate when shipping costs more than the item!.)

Anyhow, just looking into options, but unsure what I am looking for.

Thanks all!

I made the vacuum fittings from a 5 MM bolt. Drilled the center after cutting to length.
A 1/4 inch hose fits over it a bit loose so I wrap them with teflon tape.
Local part, cheap, and no shipping.

I just ordered a carb sync set getting ready for a ride to San Diego.
I think I'll look at some 5 mm allen screws with a slightly larger head than the threads for the 1/4 inch hose to fit tighter.
Would be easier to drill and easy to put in and out.

Brilliant! I will give that a try! Sounds simple enough.

Have a great trip to San Diego! How far a ride is that for you? I am debating taking mine on a first trip that is more than 5 miles), about 2 hours each way... I am a little nervous about the tires, but I may brave it anyhow... Lots of tread, but a bit old I am sure.

Have a good one!

San Diego is about 150 miles.
The family is going for a week, wifes parents her sister and family and my kids. I'm riding down on Saturday and returning Monday. Some people have to work

and put this little Brass fitting in the screw hole..........and plug a Vaccuum hose onto it , and after you finish you put a rubber cap over it . I had a heck of a time finding anyone who even knew what I was talking about....... but this little local bike shop ordered me 4 of them......now I have to Build a Manometer ,

I first made a 2 tube manometer something like that which worked pretty good.
Then I picked up a vacuum gauge to work with the one I already have which worked ok but I never got the inline restrictors.

I ordered one of these today because I've heard they're pretty easy to use.
$60 shipped.

You have a good trip too!
That first trip a couple hours from home is the most memorable.

this is the exact set "barracuda bike parts" that I have to loan, with the tuner tools both bent flathead driver, and the nut over flathead balencer adjuster.

BTW the barricuda gauges come with the 5mm and 7mm screw in tubes for the intakes, with small o-ring seals on each.

That is the exact set I have and they work great! Just remember to calibtrate the gauges to #3 carb before you start. There is a small calibration screw on the front of the gauge (after you remove the bezel).
