I have been working on a CB1300 that my mate picked up as a project that hadn't been completed and I have done just enough work to get to this stage. You are told how it only has 10k on the clock and it is all good but until it actually ran I though it might be a wrecking job to get his investment back. To say that we are both pleased would be an understatement.

Sounds good, how`s the smell.
No muffler on it atm and I didn't rev it while filming. My mate took a video with some flames as I dumped the throttle for effect, I will try and get a copy. He had the headers ceramic coated and had to use grease to reassemble the five pieces so the smell wasn't good. Also the stale fuel smell on startup ( and I cheated with some 'start ya *******'), the fact that an EFI bike didn't start straight up I feel like this engine hadn't run for 3 plus years.

Looks like a fun bike.
He wants this so that he can take his wife away on rides. She doesn't like his Custom Harley hard tail and his CBR929 is also not very pillion friendly.

I can't say I disagree with her at all. I've thought several times of setting up one bike for one up. My wife has disagreed with that plan.

To save registration costs both the Rats Nest and the Pig are classified as single seat which is almost half the cost of pillion (2 up) rego.

Technically only my Valk is a two seater. All the other bikes have single (although rather long) seats.

This is the video that Pete took while I was reving for some possible flames without a muffler on.

I got Pete to text me the video and his comment was " I have just about played it to death!" So I guess he is still pretty happy with our progress

well it dose sound nice tony ...i have no idea what the bike operates with in induction and iggy ...to bad you didnt take more pics of its make up .....power sounds great ....i found on hooch with the weber carb ...when i would dial it in ...no load ...a few times i got close to how this bike sounds ..id say this bike sounds better than hooch did a bit ... i found when i would rode test it ...the load on the bike made a carb dial in a no load condition be to rich under load ... i learned that being lean a bit in no load condition and maybe pop a bit made hooch just scream under load .... just a comment and how that played out for me ....sheesh it sounds good ...

2008 CB1300 electronic fuel injection triggering high output twin coil packs. 114 hp at 7500rpm 86 ftlbs torque at 5500rpm. Plenty of power and torque, flames or pop back are caused by revs and snapping throttle shut with just header pipe and no muffler.

The green was all the POs doing or the previous POs before him. I just love that some people spend more time on the paint than the mechanicals. No flang seal and under covers removed and in most case plenty of overspray etc on the mating surfaces  My mate likes it because it is different, I wanted a CB1300 but my preferred colour was black, naked and with the center stand option. I also saw a blue one that I liked.

On the homeward stretch now

Now that it is dressed I actually like the green colour more. The owner wanted to leave the side covers off so that you could see his pod filter. Luckily he had them painted just in case and he now agrees that they help finish the bike off and actually make the frame look better. I hope to have a custom housing made up so that we can use the genuine gauge circuit board to finish off the bike to a level that the owner is happy with.
