Amazing, it's already been a year!

Most here know we had a system crash just before Thanksgiving which brought CGW to it's knees.
It was a catastrophic event which wiped out most of the posts and all member accounts.

November 17, 2009 is when I started rebuilding the forums and creating the Gallery all over again from scratch.
On December 3rd, my birthday, is when the site was back up and I created my account, dan filipi.
Aapple followed just a couple hours later, then roncar a couple hours after that.

Aapple, Omega Man, and roncar have been instrumental in the rebuild and ongoing maintenance of the forums and deserve a big :thanks: from us all.

I thought it would be cool to list here some CGW stats of this first year back online.

(As of 4 PM November 22,2010) at Board age: 1 Year 0 Month 4 Days 23 Hours 43 Minutes

Total users: 836 (809 are active users)

Total posts: 16628

Total topics: 1314

Most users ever online: 50 (on Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:00 pm (A NEW RECORD!)

The most popular forum is the "General Forum",
followed by the "GL1100" Forum then the "New Member" Forum.

The topic "Average 35 MPG ? (How to increase fuel MPG)" has the most posts at 182. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=687

I could go on and on, if you want more I'll post them.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for your contributions to the forums with your ride pics, your stories, helping out a fellow biker.
I think we have a really good group here and I'm so happy for that because you guys have put this forum together the way I envisioned it to be right from the start.
I couldn't ask for more.

We love this place Dan, and I for one would probably still be lost if it weren't for CGF. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the mega sites like Saunders or even NAGF, are just way too much to find stuff on...it's just a little safer too.

Rock on dude! :rocks:

dan, wouldn't the date be nov. 17 2009 when you started the rebuild of the site

Dangnabbit, and I proofread that post more than once

Happy Berfday, CGWF !!!!! :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :clapping:
What I found to be neat is...it didn't seem to take very long at all to get most of the "lost" members back, as well as quite a few "new" members that signed up fairly quick. And most all of the critical info that got lost got re-posted, thanks to the original posters having either copies, or completely rewriting the posts. :eek:k:
It is what it is, and what it is, is prolly the bestest, most friendly place to go for info on these Classic 'Wings, and enjoy a little fun with like-minded folk.
Thank You DAN, for starting it in the first place!! :thanks: :good: :thanks: :good: :hi:

Yep Dan...you have created a great web site for those of us that are addicted to the old Wings. Thanks for all of your effort, and also thanks to everyone that contributes. :clapping:

As one who joined after the crash. I'm curious as to what has changed in the new site that makes it better than the site before the crash. This is a great bunch of folks. :good:

Well I still have the old forum files and what was left of the database.
Might be a kick to upload it so we could all have a look at it.

Thanks to everyone who makes this happen........ I have learned so much from this site , and you folks .... thank you all. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Actually, the look/scheme has change even since the re-birth. I absolutely remember the site BC....it was just as good a place to be as it is now, except now, it looks better, and has more features. And of course, we have some newer folks, but...we lost some of the old guard. :crying:

Three Cheers for Dan, and CGWF!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I do like the new look and many of the new features! This is much more interactive than the original site! (Although, if we could dig out some of the old posts, there was some really great information there!)

Every post with information that could be dug out has already been restored.
That was one of the first things I did.

Quite a bit was saved, many are now stickies.

:hi: Dan you and the others have created a safe place for our dumb questions which turn out to be very informative to all who had the question but diden't havw to ask it because someone else did ask and we all got not only the answer but also a complete class on the topic fron all who shares their inputs... Keep up the greay work Bob       :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

You have created a great site here and one to be proud of. I have learned from it and before coming here I thought I was the only one in the world that loved old Wings. What is so refreshing is how friendly everyone is. Thanks for the hard work all of you have put in, it is appreciated. :clapping: :clapping:
