Does anybody have any experience with THIS headset? FWIW, I use a modular helmet. Is it a decent set, or should I hold out for a J&M?

I have a chatterbox, different model.
I'll have to take a closer look at this one from my Puter when I get home.
The kit I have cost about $250 for 2 helmets wireless to other bikes.
The battery crapped out after a year but otherwise works pretty good.

The one I'm asking about, if I read the description right, is supposed to plug straight into our 5 pin plugs. It seems like a pretty inexpensive option.

I did a little more research on this headset and it seems like a pretty good alternative to the more expensive ones out there. I couldn’t find anything really bad about it.

I’m still waffling between the stock intercom/radio setup and going Bluetooth/wireless. The stock intercom will definitely be the cheapest and will at least give me some tunes for on the way to work and such. Hopefully, the CB works like I think it does and I’ll have that to use.

I’m planning to ride with the Goldwing club this coming Saturday. Maybe I should hold off and see what everybody else is doing. On the other hand, it would be nice to be “in the loop” before we head out. Hmmm, maybe a phone call is in order.

I've used a couple different J&M Headsets during the 11 years of owning my 1500 GoldWing. MHO is J&M is a top dollar product with mediocure quality. I would shop around. If the chatterbox does the job for less money. Then your the one smileing! :music3:

I stopped by Highland Cycles on the way home today and snooped around. Their opinion was that even the low end J&M headset was better than anything out there. Yeah, they do the same job, but supposedly wind noise is bad on the Chatterbox and the overall sound is appreciably better with J&M. Still, at half the cost, I wonder if it's not a worthy gamble.

I wonder about durability.
I dont really know anything about the chatterbox, but I do have the J&Ms.I have had these for a long time and they do get a beating from the wife and kid.Yanked around, dropped a couple times,or always seem to be set on the cord.
Ive only had one problem ever and that was with the upper cord on my sons.Siera, where I but them, warranteed the cord, and accually sent me both stating that the early cords where not reinforced properly.I was prepared to purchase it.They offered the warenty without me even asking.
The replacement cords look much better.

Great sound quality and low wind noise.

I got a lot of wind noise through the J&M's. Maybe their quality has improved a bit buy now I haven't bought a set in prolly 10 years.

You are the first Ive heard complain about the J&Ms.I have been very pleased with mine.
What else have you used in comparison? If there is a better option I am always open, but I must say the service from SIERA electronics has been the best.

When my sons cord acted up we where on are way to North Carolina.I searched the internet from the hotel looking for a J&M dealer along the way hoping I could find a fix or part at a H D dealer along the way,it would be a long trip with out the intercom, and his radio.
I was happy to see sierra was only a few hours east (a little back north) from where we stayed.
We rode over there the next morning which was a saterday, and they where there preparing for Wing Ding.
They jumped on my bike like a nascar pit crew, one took our helmets inside and tested them while another tested the system on the bike. They gave us the two new cords at no charge, which are noticably better than the old ones and told us to have a great trip.

So we did. :Egyptian:

They are a great seller dan.
They do sell other brand equipment as well as service the factory honda stuff also.
I know they have repaired the radio on a friends 1200,and added a MP3 plug to anothers 1500 radio.

There prices on J&M are very competetive also.
