Hey All,

I am the new guy today, I recently got a 1980 GL1100, with 20,000 miles on it. I spent a few weekends cleaning her up before I even tried to turn it over. Then I took it to JBJ Cycles in Santa Ana, California. I can not say enough great things about them!!! They tuned her, gave her new tires and them some. I could not smile enough the day I rode her home, I am a kid with a new toy!! Every dry day I am on the rode. I joined GWRRA and met some great folks....I am havin a blast, I buying lots of chrome for her, I came a cross some Chrome Radiator Trim Wings, but I can not figure how they go on....I think they are for GL1100 without a fairing..."naked wing"....am I correct or do the mount with the fairing, let me Know,

Joe

Joe, welcome to the site from New Jersey! :clapping:

The radiator wings are required for proper cooling! (I found out the hard way when I removed mine and tossed them! They were rusted out.) This is how mine are installed:

Welcome to the forums!

The radiator wings don't come with the Honda fairing because the lower fairings are suppose to take their place but they don't work very good.
I put the chrome ones from the naked model on mine together with the stock lowers.
The add on made it run MUCH cooler. I'm not sure if it's a straight bolt on though because I've modded my radiator mounts and lowers.

Welcome to the CGW Forums, Joe !! :clapping: :clapping:
I'm with Dan...the lowers do have some built in deflectors(or whatever ya call them), but they don't really seem big enough to contribute a lot. Does your bike have a fairing, or is it nekkid?
