Does anyone own these chrome valve covers, I'm asking because I want to know how they are, do that last pretty good, how do you like them? Tell me, were they worth the purchase to you, I'm planning on getting them so I thought I'd ask someone who has them first...Thanks for any response.. I'm getting my stuff thru a outfit called Add On...

i have chrome covers on my 75 and chrome intakes and fuel pump covers and love them they look good and are easy to keep shiny. i believe they are add on which i have used many times and like them, i don't have timing belt covers as i prefer my aluminium ones polished up they look just as good and i don't have to worry about them being chipped from stones and stuff off the road. i've had my chrome on now for three years and they look as good now as they did when i installed them. hope this helps

Oh my, those belt covers look fantasical shoot the whole engine looks awesome, the valve cover I'm looking at have 1100 or 1000 badge instead of the Goldwing badge on the side, I hate to spend the amount I'm looking at for them which is about $170 a set   , that seems to be alot of money and $119 for the belt covers   , but man do they look pretty and I bet it's a snap to keep them clean :music3: , I don't think I could polish them that nice do any of you?...I'm gonna give it a real good try though first, I plan on getting the buffy wheels today and some more Mothers aluminum polish....I also want the spark plug wire covers...I'm on a mission from the Goldwing Gods..

Before you start any polishing, you'll have to strip off the clearcoat that's on the covers. You can use a chemical stripper, but I went with wet sanding. Started with 600 then worked my way to 1400. Next came hand rubbing with polishes I got from a car show. The whole process takes time and lots of elbow grease, but the results are very saticefying. :lust:

Ok thanks...

I have to look in my inventory, but I am pretty sure I have an extra set of chrome plug wire covers.....brb...You might want to check with a local plating shop, the quality would be better and maybe less expensive, I got a real good deal on all the stuff below. you could have my stock take offs if they give you a good price on plating. The wire guards are yours if you want them but I think there is another piece that belongs with that i don't have.
