Next installment of my clutch adventure.

Ended up making my own clutch holder and socket.

They worked!

Now the subject:

The manual says, "Check the slots in the outer drum for nicks, cuts, and indentations made by the friction disks. If the surfaces are not smooth or there is evidence of other damage, replace the outer drum."

I am afraid this is the damage...
I can feel those indentations by finger tip.

I cannot buy brand-new outer drum from Honda, correct?
What should I do?
Sand them to be smooth?

If your talking about these with the red dots I've marked then if I were to do anything with them I'd carefully flat file them smooth and call it good.

My reasoning is the plate tabs could maybe hang up on them slightly. Maybe not.

That's no damage at all...just "normal" wear, imo. When you "sand", or dress those areas, all you want to do is make sure there are no sharp edges that the outer toothed discs could hang on.
The tooling is kewl! giterdone! :clapping: :good:

Forget the file. If you feel they need smoothed use a small whetstone to take off the very minimum. Use plenty of oil during the process to wash off the stone and basket surface.

I didn't feel any sharp edges. Maybe I should leave it as is?
I am hoping to eliminate that sudden clutch engagement, I mean when I take off, I slip the clutch and move forward, then when the clutch fully engages, I feel this clunk/click thing which reminds me of my old car. It's not that harsh but annoying. None of my other bikes does it. Can it be somewhere in the drive train?
