Come On, Spring!!

The February thaw is here in Central Illinois!!

Connected the cables to the battery and the 78 GL1000 fired right up. I rode it for several blocks and it behaved, no stalling, no stumbling, etc.

Put the 1000 away and connected the cables to the battery in the 83 GL1100A and it started very quickly. I let it idle for several minutes and then rode it around our big (pop. 487) town for a few minutes.

Put the 1100 away and hooked the battery up on the 85 GL1200. No joy. Uh, Uh, no fire. However, the battery booster gave it enough juice to fire up and run.. I let it idle for a few minutes and then rode it around for 10 minutes. Went by some young boys on bicycles and one of them said "nice bike".

All in all, a good day.

Now back to converting the 1984 to a trike.

Beautiful day here, rode about 250 miles with 20 other bikes, next week to go to crap

Beautiful day here too. Got out for a bit on my bike before working on Dads.

Finished the day with a fire and a beverage.

Weatherman just said it's 10 degrees here. Wahoo! A heat wave! Well it sure beats minus 10.

Good thing Spring isn't here yet. Daughter is painting her 86 Wing and only halfway done. Saturday we sprayed primer on some parts and watched the paint crackle. I had to remind her about hand lotion and touching ready-to-paint parts. We spent most of Sunday removing the crackle and re-priming after using wax & oil remover on the parts. She is determined to be done by April.

Now to come up with a way for her Chihuahua to ride with her.
