So I'm a bit under the weather today (caught the wife and kids's cold) so I decided to stay home. Of course I got sucked in....

I drained and flushed the coolant today and noticed a bronze-ish glitter to the coolant. Lots of it. Hmm. I removed and drained the reservoir and noticed there was a LOT of glittery sludge in the bottom. It looks like the PO put some stop leak into the reservoir at some point? Now, I've had the bike running. It didn't leak, didn't overheat, and sounded great. No bad noises from the water pump. Today I pulled the water pump cover and it feels pretty darn good. What would posses someone to put that garbage in the coolant? Interesting.

So, I flushed the system really well and filled with fresh coolant. I guess I'll find out when I start it again.

Never a dull moment with this thing.

That could be stop leak.
Maybe put in to stop a radiator leak.
Truth be known, I had a pin hole leak in the radiator a couple years ago and put in Alumaseal which stopped the leak. I've since drained the radiator for various reason and put in fresh coolant mix. That leak has never returned.
It is good stuff and I recommend it.
