Could this be a battery that is dying?

Thanks all

Even though it is the rear tire I am going to have it replaced. I can't enjoy riding knowing that the rear tire has a plug. Life is too short and the riding season here in Michigan is also too short to worry about plugs and blow outs.

Thanks for all the continued help and advice.

Starting issue might be low electrolite in the battery ( fluid) Might be a loose connection that fails when hot too. Rear tire plugged wouldn't bother me a bit. Am I telling you to trust it?
No. Only that it wouldn't bother me. I'd check your battery connections and the fluid level.

Thanks will check electrolyte level and battery connections.
As far as tire with a plug---I read the replies here to my wife and she said I need to get it it replaced.
Is there a bulb behind the Neutral Indicator that might have gone out? Or am I just not getting it--the turn signal indicator, oil, suspension indicator lights are just fine.
Thanks
Simba
Yes there is a tiny bulb there that may have burnt out and can be replaced.

and final question:

The bike I bought had new front and rear tires. I noticed a nail in the rear tire and pulled it out. It was leaking and I plugged it with a Slime Plug kit and no more leak even with a soapy water bubble test. The tire is holding pressure just fine.

I spoke to my mechanic about this and he says I should get a new tire on a MC and not rely on a plug. Recent rides at slow and high speeds and I am still here to tell you a story.

I did an internet search and many write its ok and some say change and get a new tire pronto,

What say you all?

Thanks in advance for all your advice and patience!

As much as it sucks to replace a tire, I would tend to agree with your tech. I kinda think of the tires as being one of the most important parts on a bike - they're what keep you and the road from getting too familiar... :moped:

They make a plug that looks like a Big thumb tack. Have to dismount tire to install it, they've been around since the 60's, or longer, that's just when i found out about them. :smilie_happy: Would not be afraid to use on either front, or rear, & run WITHOUT ANY WORRIES about safety issues, at all!!! :good:

Check your battery cables for corrosion inside the connections and covers. If you find any corrosion in the cables, replace them or carry a pair of hiking shoes.

My 78 Gl1000 had outdated tires on it when I bought it, so I replaced them as part of the make-over to get it running. My life means more to me than my money.
