That's a neat set-up there, Piper15T, but not what I had seen before. That looks like a normal windscreen that had sections cut loose, and then hinged. Kewl idea, too! Maybe the whole thing was a Drag Specialties item?
The one's I am referring to are just like the wind deflectors that fit on the fairings. They are attached to the outer edge of the windscreen, not cut into it.
I did find these...

This product is guaranteed to fit or work with your 1983 Honda - Motorcycle Gold Wing or your money back. No questions asked.

Said the same thing for my '81, so I suppose it would work for any of them... :good:

AApple! Those are the kind I used to have and I think they where originially made for the Wing. Piper! Those fittings look like those used on sailboat rigging to keep the line from twisting, I'll check at West Marine the next time I go down town.

:hi: As long as you are trying things you might also try one of those side deflictors accross the top WHO KNOWS you might start a new fad and create a new market...I am sure all those people who sit so high they see over the shield will jump on board :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:   Bob

Have you ridden across the new by-pass bridge out at the dam yet? I just got to do that. I probably would leave fingerprints on the handlebars if they werent foam. I was out there in March and was watching them build the road deck. 900' drop without using any safety harnesses. Yikes!
It's got to be an absolutely fantastic view....

I have not been on it but I hear there are high walls and one can't really see anything below. However there is this one curve on the old damn road, and when one comes around that corner the sight of that bridge takes your breath away. It's huge.

I am new to riding a bike with a windshield. How do you determine the proper height?? Mine seems plenty tall already, but I do look over the windshield.

That's the generally accepted height for a windshield. Some like it lower for the look but pay for it with turbulence shaking their heads around. :good:
