I keep watching Dash Cam Owners Australia's Facebook page and am amazed by the incredible stuff that goes on our roads by so called licensed drivers/ riders. Don't get me wrong some are just accidents but so many are just the vehicles driving the drivers not the other way around. The Gopro is great but I wanted something that was always going in the cars and was looking towards hard wired Dash Cams that work all the time. The choice was huge, cheap ones, internal ones, rear additional cameras and others that had them all. G force activation was another feature that I liked.
I have been using the same phone mounts in the cars as the one on the dash of the Rats Nest as there is a $500 fine for using your phone if the vehicle is moving without a cradle and in hands free/ Bluetooth mode. Most times I don't bother to mount the phone unless I am using GPS or know that I need to make calls I just leave it in my top pocket and do the wrong thing by answering it on speaker phone. I figure if I get caught I may get a warning with the right story as I have a good mount/ cradle. I checked out a few Dash Cam apps for the iPhone and liked the look of the Witness app and thought I would give it a go...
