Ya I know the C5 is pricy but it does solve the whole ignition problem. The other issue is I think you need to pull the motor to do the installation.

With our new kit you mount the ignition on the head. I can do this swap in about 45 minutes now that I've done a few, but you'll need 1000 cams or better yet, drill/tap your cam and save the money.

Can you tap the cam without removing it from the head to do the work?

That would be your decision to make. I will attempt to make a jig for keeping the drill bit square with the cam end, but not until I'm done with the 1500 cam post and a few other things.

The GL1200 cam has a pilot hole already which is just a bit under the 5mm size needed to tap an M6 hole. Not sure about the 1100 cam because we brought that one to a machine shop. It cost us $35 to have them drill/tap it.

Any of the 1000 models can use the new kit easy. Just remove the whole ignition cup and install the new c5. 1100 can use the 1000 cams to make it real easy. Sometimes the 75-77 cams are listed on ebay for a very reasonable price.
