Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but I see that you have it all under control. If you can polish up the slip rings to a mirror finish that will increase the life of the brushes. Good to see the oil can’t get to the brushes like on a diesel vac pump drive alternator. The seal is on the slip ring end.

I have the OE seal...finally got it yesterday(only took 10 friggin days to ship from Ohio). BTW...the SKF 9879 seal is not even close....done checked it out. :yes: Just need a few spare minutes to put the alt back together, and then back on the bike. :moped:
