I have a Seal Mate I'm going to try in hopes dirt is causing fluid to leak.
How do I remove the dust seal?

Yes, just pry it up and slide it up out of the way. Should lift up no problem, just pry a little each side with a thin blade.
OH!..Didn't know it was you Dan, you know how to get it loose.

No I never done this before and didn't want to screw it up.
I called my daughter in Florida...she said if you have any issue, just get in contact with her. She changes out fork seals in 15 minutes! (per side) :hihihi:

With the seal mate I don't think you need to. I didn't see them do it in their "how to" video.
In the sealmate.net video they do show sliding the dust seal down first, in our case UP.

Well that's done. Some grit came out. Ride time will tell if this fixed the leaks.

1oz of tranny stop leak in each fork worked in mine for three years.
Good idea.
I have to get some atf to fill the forks anyhow so I'll pick up a bottle of the stop leak.

Steve put new seals in the Rats Nest and we had an intermittent leak on the right one. It actually leaked fluid but some how managed to still maintain some air pressure. I made the old seal mate from a pup coke bottle and after moving the dust seal out of the way was able to restore / remove grime that has the seal working correctly again.
The other day I put too much air in the front forks ( 20 psi) and heard a pop from the left fork seal and ended up with some fluid leaking ( once the pressure dropped they are both fine again).

I think for not much more money than the stop leak you could buy some new fork seals
